I just got back Saturday evening from serving down in Haiti. I went with Hub City Church to Alex’s House. Alex’s House is an orphanage in Port-Au-Prince Haiti and they have a campus in Montrois (pronounced Mowee). We were blessed to work on their new campus they are building to move the kids out of Port-Au-Prince to a much safer location. In the afternoon we went to the Montrois orphanage to share Bible stories and play with the kids. I was reminded how much God loves us and how much we need the Gospel. Haiti is a beautiful place…honestly, beautiful doesn’t do it justice, but within that beauty there is a lot of things that are messed up with how much poverty the people are forced to live in. It reminded me of how we try to look beautiful on the outside, but if we were honest with ourselves we are pretty screwed up as well. Here are some pics from the time there.
This is the Orphanage in Montrois. This is where 23 kids live. The small building on the bottom right is the outhouse they all share.
One of the kids kept wanting to play with my camera.
